One of the warmest welcome experiences I have ever had in a luxury hotel, including airport pick up in one of the brand new Jaguar limousines….
Breakfast in the cozy Sea Lounge overlooking the India Gate, within immediate proximity, with thousands of passers by any tiny boats anchored in the small harbour….
Relaxing by the pool in an impeccably manicured garden with palm trees and exotic birds….Utmost pampering at the private SPA with an Indian massage….
A perfect tea or afternoon snack in the sophisticated Club Lounge, which feels like a private gentlemen’s club in London….
Home away from home feel in one of the majestic rooms, with the finest quality, Italian made (solid wood) classic furniture perfectly matched by the latest technology features – high speed wireless internet, touch screen bed side controls for lighting, DND and butler, large LCD tvs….
Flowers – from my favourite tuberoses throughout the entire hotel, to superb flower arrangements in the rooms lillies, orchids, roses….
….I just wish I could put together in such few words the unique TAJ MAHAL PALACE Hotel in Mumbai, now not only a landmark as a top luxury hotel in India but also a national symbol of resilience, following the 2008 tragic events.
But probably the most touching experience of my stay, this month, at the Taj Mahal Palace in Mumbai was the passion and respect I have felt when interacting with any of the hotel staff. I have rarely seen staff have so much respect for their workplace and so proudly exert this passion to guests. I have only felt taken care of and pampered but I have also felt respected and genuinely welcome.
The hotel is not only impressive in its architecture, a stunning blend of colonial, British and renaissance styles with lavish interiors, but also in the details – the entire hotel is a living museum, with a wealth of artworks such as paintings, sculptures, statues and historical photos with the world’s top celebrities having been guests of honor of the hotel – heads of state, kings and queens, most famous actors, musicians and artists.
Attention to details is unmatched and service is extremely fast and efficient. I wouldn’t even perceive when I would be shortly away from my room, to return and find it as impeccable as it was on my check in. As for the bathroom, it is probably the largest I have ever experienced, with a stand alone bathtub, huge wardrobe space and a separate area for a large shower, with glass door. I was so pleased to discover the Forest Essentials amenities, Indian hand made producs of the highest quality ingredients (all cold pressed).
The location of the hotel is not only spectacular because of the India Gate and seaviews but it is also in the most prestigious area of Mumbai, minutes to the legendary railway station and other hstorical landmarks. On my short strol to the recently opened Hermes flagship store (the first major international luxury brand with a street level location), I couldn’t feel more safe !
I wish I could stay more…I still have to experience one of the 11 fine dining restaurants of the hotel, considered among the top in Mumbai.
My deepest respects to TAJ HOTELS !
