On the two upper floors of the planned Ikea near the Westbahnhof train station in Vienna, Accor’s Open House by Jo&Joe brand, which combines hostel and traditional hotel elements, is scheduled for a 2021 opening.
Construction work on the seven-story building will commence in January 2020 and the Jo&Joe will include 345 beds, along with a fully integrated restaurant and bar on the rooftop, as well as event programming.
After openings in Paris and Hossegor (France) and with seven signed projects, this is the first Jo&Joe in the German-speaking region and reflects the brand’s global expansion plan.
“We are working together [with Ikea] to create an inviting, well-connected environment that reflects the lifestyle trends of a young, urban clientele. We are delighted with this strategic partnership with IKEA and welcome further cooperation in the future,” said Volkmar Pfaff, managing director of Accor Austria.
