Almost simultaneously with its high profile capsule luxury handbags collection with BULGARI, Alexander Wang has teamed up with one of the hottest luxury brands of the moment, South Korean based eyewear maker Gentle Monster (acquired earlier this year by LVMH).
However, it’s almost a rarity to come across sunglasses that are themed around the serpent (a symbol in the history and creations of Roman jeweller Bulgari).
Introduced in two colour-ways of black and gold, and clear and silver, the uber-chic sunglasses come decorated with two metal snakes wrapped around the eyes. The exclusive new eyewear is titled M.PRI$$ and features a flat oval frame while the silhouette boasting a subtle cat-eye shape. Each pair is luxuriously wrapped in a leather case, complete with Alexander Wang and Gentle Monster branding and an elongated zipper.
In staying loyal to the snake-inspiration, the brands also used a real snake in the official ad-campaign for the M.PRI$$. As visible from the release pictures, a jet-black serpent can be seen seductively sliding around the eye-wear that is perched mid-air off a shelf. Early last year, the two brands had collaborated for the ‘CEO’ shades that were appreciated well by the audiences. And with the snake-themed glasses this year, the two wish to make a similar impact. Priced at $320 USD each pair, the M.PRI$$ Collection will release on September 12 and will be available on both Gentle Monster and Alexander Wang‘s websites.
