Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spas, a division of Thailand’s Minor Hotels, has opened the Anantara Villa Padierna Palace Benahavis Marbella Resort, its first property in Spain.
Located on the southern coast in the hills above Marbella and Puerto Banus, the hotel has 132 guestrooms, suites and pool villas, designed by British architect Ed Gilbert. Public space includes several restaurants, a bar, a beach club and a kids’ club. The 21,000-square-foot Anantara Spa—inspired by the Roman Baths—has 10 treatment rooms and a hydrotherapy circuit with three dedicated rooms, a hammam, aromatherapy steam rooms and relaxation areas.
Situated in Marbella’s “Golden Triangle” golf region, Villa Padierna Golf Club has three 18-hole golf courses: Flamingos Course, par-71; Alferini Course, par-73; and the par-63 Tramores Course. In addition, the golf club is home to the Tramores Golf Academy by Michael Campbell. The 22,000-square-foot Villa Padierna Racquet Club has several tennis courts, paddle-tennis courts and a croquet lawn.
The hotel features more than 1,200 original artworks, including paintings, sculptures and artifacts. Anantara Villa Padierna Palace is a 50-minute drive from Malaga International Airport, 15 minutes from the marina of Puerto Banus and 10 minutes from the historic Marbella town.
Anantara debuted in Europe in 2017 with the launch of Anantara Vilamoura Algarve Resort in southern Portugal. The company now has 35 hotels worldwide
