With a complex offering both in terms of facilities and service, the Casta Diva Resort & Spa has established itself in less than 4 years since opening as the leading luxury resort on Lake Como.
Accommodations spread throughout 9 buildings and boasting classic as well as contemporary interior designs, beautifully manicured gardens, a state-of-the-art Spa with a unique concept, two swimming pools (including an outdoor heated one, floating on the lake), an excellent fine dining restaurant and genuine personalized service – make the Casta Diva Resort an ideal destination for honeymooners, weddings or special private events, corporate events as well as leisure guests seeking the ultimate relaxation.
Its location on Lake Como, ideal for boat trips and water sports as well as the short distance from Milan and Lugano (both less than 40 minute away) provide Casta Diva Resort guests with a wide range of activities such as relaxation, theatre, shopping, gambling or sightseeing. The resort also has its private marina with direct access from the lake to the resort, the Spa and the L’Orangerie Restaurant.
The aristocratic ambiance is instilled not only by the classic interiors but also the subtle references to opera, drawing on the history of the main building of the resort, Villa Roccabruna, from the XIX century, which used to be owned by Giuditta Pasta, the most famous opera singer of the XX Century. Mention should also be made that the Lake Como probably has the highest concentration of affluent inhabitants in Italy, with the most spectacular luxury villas and mansions.
The main restaurant of the resort, L’Orangerie not only features spectacular views of the lake but also an exceptional menu of typical Italian cuisine with a modern twist, based on a meticulous selection of the finest Italian products: fresh pasta, bread and cakes, with a particular focus on local traditions. The attentive, warm and personalized service have made L’Orangerie a favourite not only among resort guests but also locals and even customers who come in from Switzerland for a special dinner.
As for accommodations, Casta Diva Resort boasts the most diverse type of accommodations, most of them with outdoor space, certainly the largest among luxury hotels in Lake Come. Whether a classic XIX century rich aristocratic interior design, an understated contemporary style or a slick modern design, the resort provides accommodation options for the most discerning travellers. I was impressed by the quality of finishes and furnishings which are truly luxurious.
The Casta Diva Resort also responds to the XXI century needs of guests, with high speed wi-fi (complimentary) throughout the entire resort, integrated digital Tv & entertainment system, smartphones for the duration of the stay for suite guests – are just some of the exceptional features of the resort.
Comfort is a matter of no compromise when it comes to the lavish rooms and suites of the resort – finest Italian bed linen and towels, bespoke bathrobes, custom made toiletries by famed Florence based perfumer Vincenzo Villoresi. Beds are heavenly comfortable and with almost no exception, guests will cherish the unique moments of reflection when watching the lake from the bed. Exquisit fresh flower arrangements throughout the entire hotel as well as the rooms and suites are a feast for the eyes (I was truly impressed with the rose placed on my bed the evening prior to departure, upon turndown).
Besides the WOW factor of the facilities, Casta Diva Resort would not have achieved its top rankings without the exceptional standards of service extended by the team headed by passionate young hotelier Andrea Luri. The ”can do” attitude among the entire team in all departments is worthy of a top luxury hotel chain such as Peninsula. At each and every occasion in all parts of the resort, staff would go out of their way to satisfy the requests of the most demanding guests.
From the swift and warm service of the Front Office, the caring attitude of the Spa team to the homey feel inspired by Housekeeping – have earned by deepest respect and, I am sure, like many other guests, have nurtured the wish to return when I departed.
