In its first year anniversary Atlantis The Royal has marked several notable achievements including a unique distinct positioning in Dubai’s luxury hotel sector as the first large scale luxury resort (795 rooms and suites), home to several fine dining offerings but also luxury retail, including the first Louis Vuitton flagship store (including Cafe) in such a luxury hotel property.
Despite the sheer size of the property, Atlantis The Royal extends a high service standard, which is genuine, pro-active and efficient, staff being seemingly courteous and warm at all interactions. The grand lobby, the spectacular water fountains, the private sand beach, the rooftop infinity pool and the stunning suites with their own pools are some of the major unique selling points of Atlantis The Royal.
Rooms are fairly large, all with floor to ceiling windows and balconies. Glass enclosed bathrooms feature separate showers and bathtub with amenities by Graff. Japanese toilets, Egyptian cotton towels, excellent water pressure and Dyson hair dryers are among the bathroom highlights. Beds are exceptionally comfortable with high-thread Frette linen. AC works well, serene and adaptive to desired temperature in minutes.
The best restaurants are Estiatorio Milos (probably the best fish & seafood in Dubai), Ariana’s Persian Kitchen and Nobu by The Beach. Besides the mind-blowing views of the fountains and the entire property, Milos also boasts the highest service standards of all restaurants. There is room for improvement for breakfast service both in the Club Royal Lounge (also food selection) and Gastronomy Restaurant.
While the size, number of outlet, the resort offers rather limited luxury retail, Louis Vuitton and Valentino being the largest stores. A few other international luxury brands are also represented but in very small spaces on the Mezzanine. Ling Ling is the biggest venue with dining and late night entertainment, competing with several very successful similar venues in Dubai. Unlike a similar luxury property in Las Vegas, do not expect any entertainment such as staged music concerts (residences) or other events.
