Authentic Brands Group has acquired fashion brand Hervé Léger from Marquee Brands for an undisclosed amount. Founded by the late Hervé Leroux in 1985, Hervé Léger redefined women’s fashion with the bandage dress that was later adopted by other brands. BCBG acquired the fashion house in 1998 from the Seagram’s Group and relaunched the brand in 2007 under Max Azria’s direction. Marquee Brands later acquired the label in August 2017 along with the entire BCBG Max Azria portfolio.
Hervé Léger is the latest acquisition by ABG and the second in this year. The brand development and licensing company acquired a majority stake in American heritage brand Frye and currently co-owns the label with Global Brands Group. Frye is the first brand to be co-owned by the two companies.
The Authentic Brands Group portfolio also includes Juicy Couture, Aéropostale and Tretorn.
