U.S. based retailer Brooks Brothers signed a joint venture with Indian group Reliance for the development of the American brand in India. This year, together with Reliance, Brooks Brothers will open three mono-brand stores in India, in the cities of Chandigarh, Elante and Delhi.
The Brooks Brothers store in Chadigarh will be the largest of the three cities, being expected to anchor the new mall of the city. The CEO of Reliance Brands also stressed that the choice of Candigarh as a first location for the store is motivated by the fact that the city actually has two seasons, winter included. All the three stores will carry menswear for the first season, women’s wear and children’s wear will be added in 2013.
