Parisian luxury watch retailer Chronopassion has unveiled a new limited edition Bvlgari Octo Finissimo Tattoo Acqua watch designed by Fabrizio Buonamassa Stigliani and Laurent Picciotto. This new Bvlgari Octo Finissimo is a new milestone of the pinnacle of 21st century high end watchmaking which sees Bvlgari as a major protagonist with already 8 Geneva Watchmaking GP and 60 other international awards in past 10 years
The second opus in a series dedicated to the natural elements. Where the first opus in the series was created in 2021 and themed on the natural element of air, represented clouds, it is water, rendered with waves – the face of the wild, powerful and untamed forces of the ocean that captured the imagination of the three men this year: Laurent Picciotto, founder and owner of Chronopassion in Paris, one of the most influential figures in contemporary watchmaking; Mo Coppoletta, an aesthete renowned for his art of artistic tattooing in London; Fabrizio Buonamassa Stigliani, Executive Director of Product Creation at Bulgari.
For the second time, they turned their gaze on the language of art engraved on the skin and reinterpreted it on the surface of the Octo Finissimo, with a mastery of lines, shapes, volumes, and angles. A gaze that captures our times The tattoo concept in this new model is used as a graphic element, which runs through the entire surface of the watch. This time, the curves and aquatic movements are in contrast with the rigidity of the design of the case and the bracelet creating an unexpected dynamism.
Through the pattern of intertwined waves symbolising both power and transience, the metal (titanium, which is integral to the Octo Finissimo’s DNA), spatial volumes and surfaces of the Octo Finissimo Tattoo Acqua find themselves truly transcended by the graphic artistry. The watch presents a fluid face of curves in a natural pattern of waves, contrasting with the Octo’s architectural design and geometric features.
The visual rendition, laser-engraved to transpose the artistic vision with utmost precision, is dazzling. This exceptional watch has a total thickness of only 5.15 mm thanks to the extra-thin self-winding movement, which itself is just 2.23 mm thin and made possible by, among other things, a platinum micro-rotor. A true engineering prowess, the power reserve extends to 60 hours.
The Bvlgari Octo Finissimo Tattoo Acqua comes as a limited series, exclusively available at Chronopassion in Paris, of only 30 pieces at a price tag of 26,000 euros
