CPP-LUXURY.COM is launching a series on travel during the pandemic for this year’s Festive season. Our first country of focus is Switzerland, with many of our readers and members not even mentioning Switzerland in their plans for this year.
We shall be looking from all angles if you can safely plan a stress-free trip from where you are (depending also on your nationality) despite authorities providing ”surprises” such as adding your country on a certain ”list”. Can the hotel assist to change your travel arrangements so you avoid these negative surprises? Will your hotel alert you in time in case for instance one country introduces quarantine on arrival from Switzerland?
As most of the top luxury hotels in Gstaad, St Moritz, Zermatt or Verbier are family owned, have they really implemented the strictest Covid-19 safety and hygiene measures? Are there authorities inspecting?
Have these hotels trained their staff to implement these measures consistently and do it in an effortless manner ? To provide the highest service standards, staff and employees are the first ones that need to feel safe and convey this safety to guests ! Are staff living nearby or they commute and if such, are they tested regularly?
Are these luxury resorts / hotels able to provide the safest transfers from the nearest intl airport in a disinfected car by a certified entity? (90% of them do not own their cars so us suppliers). Why not surprise guests booking a suite with a luxury private car transfer included in the price, showing the hotel cares about the safety of your journey from the airport or providing a decent transfer fare? This season, people are not likely to feel as safe as they used to on Swiss trains, simply because they are closed spaces and no fresh air in their AC.
How safe is to use their restaurants or Spas? Can you also have a facial or just a massage? Can you host a small anniversary party? Do they allow minimum 24 hrs between each guest checking-in into the same room or suite? What is the overall disinfection method used for public spaces? – elevators, handles, restrooms etc. Can you safely rent ski equipment – how is it disinfected from previous air?
Beyond winter wonderland pictures and videos with which hotels are flooding Instagram (most from last year) luxury hotels should be aware that the discerning wealthy travellers are seeking completely different information and re-assurances.
Our intentions are most positive, to extend our support with editorial coverage for all luxury hotels and to provide our readers and members as well as the entire luxury industry with clear, unbiased and up-to-date information that will motivate them to opt for Switzerland this winter.
We look forward to hearing from all luxury hotels / resorts in Switzerland which are ready to welcome international travellers this winter season. E-mail us: email@example.com
