Italian luxury menswear house of Ermenegildo Zegna has recently inaugurated its flagship store in Geneva, Switzerland. Located on the prestigious Rue du Rhone, the new Zegna store covers two floors and houses the full range of Zegna products.
The opening of the store was complimented with the launch of the first edition of Art in Global Stores, a unique and integrated platform assembling all the collaborations between the Group and artists, curators, cultural institutions and other organizations within of contemporary art. Areas within boutiques globally will now permanently become hosts to site-specific works specifically commissioned from mid-career artists, namely Nico Vascellari.
Vascellari will become the featured artist for the first chapter of Art in Global Stores with his creation hanging within the space of the boutiques’ grand staircase. Curated by Cecilia Canziani and Simone Menegoi and coordinated by Andrea Zegna, the first artwork is dedicated to the theme of memory, both individual and collective; a fabric in which human lives are interwoven with everything around them. Vascellari defines it as an “emotional cord” that “symbolizes a relationship and poetically recreates the essence of a garment.”
