How has the positioning of Six Senses Kaplankaya Bodrum evolved in the past years as a luxury destination?
Bodrum is Saint Tropez of Turkey. Since many years lot of big international chains and local hotel brands started to develop and open properties here. Unlike from some other resort destinations in Turkey, Bodrum stands out being luxuries not over crowded and a place for selected holiday makers. Along with Turkish holiday makers, Bodrum is also very popular among Europeans, CIS and Middle Eastern.
What is the positioning of Six Senses Kaplankaya?
Six Senses Kaplankaya has very advantageous location and easily can be accessed either from Bodrum and Izmir Airport. We position ourselves as SPA and Wellness focused property while keeping a healthy balance and providing great opportunities to sun & sea lovers as well as families with kids to enjoy Six Senses Kaplankaya. Kaplankaya as destination each year is getting more awareness among the travellers and this is basically our main goal to position ourselves as Six Senses Kaplankaya as destination. Also one of the essences of Six Senses Kaplankaya is to deliver a memorable emotional hospitality to our guest, based on the local culture. With a strong focus on Integrative wellness, we develop excellency and variety in our services. This permits us to create the difference with our competitors, exceed guest expectations and allowing us to be recognized as a renowned wellness destination in Turkey and worldwide.
Tell us more about the profile of your loyal guest. For the future, are there any markets you are particularly targeting?
We have a good amount of Six Senses loyal guests i.e. families, couples, different age groups who previously stayed in other Six Senses properties and they travel to experience new destinations. Guests mainly choose Six Senses as a great place where they can get reconnected with themselves, others and the World around them. As any other Six Senses Hotel we are at Kaplankaya our main focus is Spa and Wellness programs as well as creating crafted memorable experiences. Along with regular Spa treatments in our property, we also have great opportunities for our guests to experience different wellness retreats and sessions with various visiting practitioners coming to our resort.
At the moment our guests mainly coming from Europe and Turkey but this season we witnessed that CIS and Middle Eastern markets has also great interest and in travelling to Bodrum and spending their holidays at Six Senses Kaplankaya. We strongly believe that mentioned markets will become more stronger if the number of direct flights to Bodrum will increase.
How important is the reputation and awareness of the Six Senses brand?
Six Senses as a brand becoming more and more strong in the market as well as the awareness of the brand is constantly growing. Six Senses has its core values and all our properties are a very strong representation of them. I think this is very important and crucial as our guests are expecting it from Six Senses when they travel and stay in our different properties worldwide. It is a wonderful feeling to hear from our guests how much they know about Six Senses, about brand philosophy and building their loyalty to brand because they do trust on company core values we represent.
Six Senses Kaplankaya is the first property in Turkey and during the short period of time we got huge interest to this brand in Turkey and worldwide as destination. Today we have Turkish market representing the strongest segment of our business and it grows year by year. Having this potential and interest to destination as Turkey Six Senses signed for another successful Project to open the second property in last quarter of 2019 in Istanbul.
Besides the resort offerings, what are the activities your guests are seeking during their stay?
Six Senses Kaplankaya offers daily complimentary and paid activities to its guests. This activities may be wellness, gastronomic or experiential.
Using advantage of resort’s location we organise different experiential tours in the area of Kaplankaya as well as outside of Kaplankaya. We have wide range of tours such as Bodrum Tour, Daily Yacht Tours, Fishing, Diving, Destination Dining, Shopping and evening out at Yalıkavak Marina, Greek Island Tours as well as various domestic sightseeing tours including, Miletus, Ephesus and many more.
From opening, you had a very compressive Spa offering. Tell us more about how this has evolved?
With 10.000 sqm of Wellness & Spa and Fitness space and the beautiful views of the Aegean Sea even the most wellness and spa ‘savvy’ guest will find their expectations exceeded at Six Senses Kaplankaya.
Six Senses Kaplankaya is offering various of wellness programs, spa services and activities. Our programs include Detox, Holistic Anti-aging, Weight Management, Mind Detox, retreats like Grow New Body, Wisemotion and many more. At the same time, along with the treatments we offer in our SPA Menu, each month we have various visiting practitioners offering large choice of treatments and wellness experiences.
Beyond the obvious leisure guests, how well is the resort prepared to cater to large events – corporate or private (i.e. weddings)?
We have unique indoor and outdoor venues at Six Senses Kaplankaya as well as in Kaplankaya as a destination which offers unrivalled event concepts for MICE segment as well as various corporate events and weddings. The number of events and weddings grow year by year. We are very proud of hosting not only local but also European and Indian weddings as well as car launches. Kaplankaya having very suitable road infrastructure for test drives makes very popular for these type of events.
Convenient location and beautiful nature of Six Senses Kaplankaya allows to offer numerous possibilities and venues to host various events at this place .We also offer unique wellness & wellbeing concepts for Food & Beverage, activities combined with mindfulness, wellness as well as indoor & outdoor training activities.

Regardless of the location, we integrate historical signature dishes from Turkey into the menus, encouraging the enjoyment of specialities such as mantı, kebab, mezzes, Aegean herbs and freshly caught local fishes.
Using natural ingredients at Six Senses Kaplankaya we choose a cleaner and simpler approach to preparation, focusing on quality, balance and whole fresh food made from scratch. Chefs indulge their love for hearty and healthy menus full of colour, taste and joy.
We are focusing on local and sustainable products and it is essential for us to know what’s in food and where it’s coming from, we are as Six Senses Kaplankaya reinforcing our relationships with local farmers, producers and suppliers, who are committed to responsible sourcing and seasonality. At Six Senses Kaplankaya we also use products grown in our organic garden called “EathLab” where we organise tours and activities for our hotel guests too.
The menus at the Six Senses Kaplankaya showcase a blend of regionally-inspired contemporary also, traditional Turkish dishes with an emphasis on simplicity and flavour, a pursuit supported by the passion of the team, nurtured by our relationships with regional farmers, winemakers and inspired by the Kaplankaya region.
