Since opening in 2013, Fairmont Baku has achieved and maintained a top positioning among luxury hotels not only in Baku but the entire Caspian region. As an operator, Fairmont Hotels has proven consistency both in service and product even in the most challenging times, such as the pandemic but also the fluctuations in the political and economic context. Nowadays, Fairmont Baku is also positioned as a top choice employer for the Azeri younger generation who are seeking an international career.
In its quest for the highest standards, the leadership of the property has impeccably maintained the the DNA of the Fairmont Hotels brand, implementing standards and constantly adapting to the market while seeking to innovate and improve while attracting a solid base of international travellers, both corporate and leisure, while hosting some of the top events in Azerbaijan and welcoming local patrons to its dining venues but also the Spa, one of the largest in the entire region.
Over time, Fairmont Baku has proven to be a most reliable choice while maintaining desirability and relevance, as well as value, which is an ultimate goal, especially post pandemic. Fairmont Baku has been instrumental for Accor‘s positioning in the region, standing firm as a profitable luxury hotel, with exceptional performance, also expected by the owners of the property. Despite staffing challenges faced by the entire luxury hospitality sector, Fairmont Baku has maintained its lead.
During my recent stay, I was impressed that the team of the hotel does listen to the feedback of the guests, implementing very fast the valid comments and suggestions. I could see improvements in a matter of hours and during my entire stay. Every single staff is well intended and eager to extend the best service standards, aiming to be most efficient while providing an individualised approach. Azeri hospitality is evident throughout the entire property through kindness, warmth and care. You will also feel respected and appreciated!
Mention must also be made that Fairmont Baku is housed within the Flame Towers complex, an architectural landmark which defines Baku as a destination. The iconic towers with all-lit towers (with a ‘dancing effect’) stand on a hill, providing the most spectacular views of the city and the entire destination. The towers are located in a prime district in Baku, also abundant in greenery and more airy in terms of unconstructed space. Much like the rest of Baku, the area is safe and extremely clean, with beautiful gardening and landscaping.
Fairmont Baku is equally impressing for onlookers as it is for the hotel guests, with breathtaking panoramic, picture-perfect views. The all glass structure provides a unique setting, with a predominant WOW factor at every single corner. The investment in the construction of the 3 towers exceeded US$ 350 million, with expansive accommodations, outdoor and indoor swimming pools, a state-of-the-art Spa and exceptional dining venues. Essentials such as soundproofing and water pressure are superlative.
The lobby entrance is no less spectacular, with a majestic Czech-made crystal chandelier and ample space, which is a an essential feature for all Fairmont Hotels. The grand entrance is probably the most impressive among all luxury hotels in Baku. The event spaces also boast stunning views, having been a prime choice for the best events in the city. You will enjoy the generous breakfast but also the Bar 19 with its sleek Asian menu and uninterrupted city and sea vistas. Food is exceptional throughout the entire hotel.
Fairmont Baku Flame Towers is within steps from a most unique funicular which takes you directly to the heart of the city, making it within easy reach of all the attractions, walking distance to the old town. The Concierge team of the hotel is expertly trained to make arrangements for the most discerning guests, whether it is sightseeing, dining or experiencing more of the off-the-beaten-track paths of the city which is a superb blend of heritage and modernity. Azerbaijan is a most authentic destination, with rich culture and heritage, with multiple sights to visit and enjoy during your stay.
Carol Joy SPA at Fairmont Baku spreads over two floors, with an exceptional range of amenities creating luxury leisure experiences that go beyond the expected. Totalling 3,500 metres, the lower level of the spa is reserved for revitalisation and features, and the upper is for relaxation, each beautifully reflected in the decor. From the immense hamamm to the beautiful sea-green indoor pool and the rooftop pool with awe-inspiring views, opportunities for relaxation are countless.
The Fairmont Baku Spa boasts boasts some of the most impressive facilities for an urban property among all Fairmont Hotels, globally. It was masterfully conceived from the planning and construction phase of the hotel to include top quality luxury furnishings and finishes with abundant day-light. Great attention has been paid to facilities, including soundproofing and airconditioning. All treatment and relaxation spaces have natural wooden flooring and paneling, including lacquered wood. The team is world-class, highly skilled and trained, both in customer service and treatments.
Do not miss the Spa Cafe and do try both the outdoor and the indoor pool – after 4 pm it is reserved for adults. After hammam, do try the heavenly relaxation space which features spectacular panoramic views of the city – the lighter wood scheme is impressive and the best time is the Spa. Besides Carol Joy, which is the flagship brand, there is also the fully organic brand Qatar-Tau, originally from Turkyie. The Spa operation is impressive not only considering the expansive size but also ensuring very high service standards for both regular local customers as well as hotel guests.
Without any doubt, Fairmont Baku offers the best selection of luxury hotel suites in the city. Set on the uppermost floors, suites boast gorgeous marble bathrooms, with free-standing bathtubs and larger walk in showers. Fairmont signature luxury amenities by Le Labo are placed in sustainable recipients – the scent throughout the entire hotel cannot be missed. I loved the plush tick cotton towels and very much appreciated the oversized wardrobe with ample space for your personal items. The emphasis on comfort is evident.
