Sofitel Copacabana closed its doors after the Olympics on May 1, 2017 for a conversion to Fairmont. It was expected at the time that Fairmont would open in the second half of 2018 after 14 months of renovations.
Fairmont Rio de Janeiro, Copacabana, located in one of the most spectacular places in Rio de Janeiro, the Copacabana Beach, under the majestic gaze of Sugar Loaf Mountain. Inspired by the glamour carioca in the 1950’s, this luxury hotel is an oasis.
From a total 375 accommodations, there are 10 rooms categories with a balcony, and the Gold Rooms offer a private lounge and exclusive services. The hotel also has two swimming pools, spa, sauna, fitness center, restaurant, bars and meeting rooms. There are also 6 dining outlets, of which the main Marine Restô.
