Located right on Palm Jumeirah one of the most sought-after real estate in Dubai because of its convenient central location, shaped like a tree and lined with wide stretches of natural sand beach FIVE Palm resembles more like a luxury urban resort. Just 30 minutes from the airport, the hotel is on the west of the trunk, overlooking Dubai Marina and Bluewaters Island. At any given time of the day, but especially sunset and evening, views are mesmerizing.
The lobby is a glass cube, in front of an outdoor azure stretch of pool directed towards the Arabian Sea. It is almost like the extension of the lobby – sensibly conceived like a catwalk, with patrons rejoicing over seeing and be seen. At any given time of the day Front Office and Concierge appear to be overwhelmed, with check-in and check-out – but in reality, things could not be more under control.

Praia seaside restaurant which is almost an extension of the main pool, also has a most stylish lounge serving fresh European Coastal cuisine with Japanese flare, featuring a resident from noon till sunset. Like every venue and corner of the hotel, Praia has been carefully conceived to respond to a guest profile seeking a more chilled mood. The mix of hotel guests and locals is ideal, making all feel like they belong. During my stay, I was continuously impressed to witness how the FIVE universe (not just the brand) are so much loved and cherished by all returning guests, whether local or even staying at other hotels.
In time, by carefully listening to suggestions and feedback – which, has become common nature for the entire team – the hotel has been succeeding in delivering the service and the entertainment guests desire. Taking in feedback is a culture at FIVE. By striving and aiming for the best, and maintaining consistency, FIVE has also achieved reliability – a place where the most diverse guest profile can certainly find their preferences.
Connected by a sky bridge above the cube lobby, two shiny glass-panelled wings house an impressive 470 rooms and apartments. A row of four-bedroom villas with private pools and rooftop whirlpool tubs line the shore. Interiors are of the standards of any major international luxury hotel chain – sleek, with brushed bronze metalwork, teal tambour door cocktail cabinets, fine marble floors and floor-to-ceiling windows. The 1920’s theme continues into marble bathrooms featuring bronze showers and freestanding tubs, stocked with aromatic Rituals amenities.
Despite the sheer number of rooms, all accommodations are impeccably maintained after 6 years since opening. Attention has not only been paid to furnishings but also ultimate comfort – soundproofing is exceptionally good, AC is efficient and serene and housekeeping service is impressive .
The Penthouse Dubai on the 16th floor is Dubai’s liveliest adults-only rooftop day and evening lounge offering spectacular views of the stunning Dubai skyline. Featuring two glass-lined swimming pools, guests can enjoy the stunning sunset overlooking the Palm. The Penthouse is hosting not only permanent in-house DJ but also major international celebrities and performers. One of the secrets behind the booming success of FIVE is how each venue takes over a theme for a night or day – in a most authentic way.
With 13 F&B evenues to eat and drink, the party at Five extends to the tastebuds. Beach by Five and The Pool Bar are social hubs by day complemented by casual eateries offering pizza, detox dining and Mediterranean fare. By night, take a bite out of the Amalfi Coast at poolside Cinque, or explore delicious modern Chinese-inspired creations at Maiden Shanghai with its ambient veranda overlooking the resort. Like all the other F&B venues, Maiden Shanghai has evolved into a most coherent concept, being recognised as one of the best Chinese restaurants in DUBAI.
Indoor bars Roar and Above 21 serve crafted cocktails but prioritise sundowners at The Penthouse – its open-air terrace treats patrons to sparkling Dubai Marina and Palm Jumeirah views. A roster of promotions, from ladies’ night drinks deals to Friday brunch, keep the venues busy with a keen young expat clientele. Feel free to skip breakfast at BLVD on One brasserie. The underwhelming selection of fruit, cereal, breads, eggs and Asian staples, combined with inconsistent service, isn’t worth setting an alarm for.
Regardless of the venue, food is excellent (quality and presentation) and so is service ! The themed cuisines are most authentic, with highly specialised and skilled Chefs and menus which have been constantly perfected. This has allowed for the expansion of most dining venue concept to FIVE Jumeirah Village Circle and FIVE Zurich. Particular attention is given to recognition of guests and a most individualised approach. Whether a new guest or a returning one, staff will make sure you will be pampered, without even a trace of pretentiousness.
Bohemia is the ultimate beach party, with thousands gathering on the beach to capture the Festival style performances from dancers to a glitter station and a shaman. The hottest house music beach party from the heart of Palm Jumeirah features record breaking International DJs such as Lost Frequencies, Robin Schulz and Joris Voorn, amongst many more. Guests have the widest array of choices being able to opt for their tailored choice.
The reFIVE Spa offers an oasis of serenity, even if just walking distance from the rest of the resort with its own private rooftop pool lined with cabanas and in-water loungers. NEOM, Sodashi and Natura Bisse are the main featured brands for body and skincare (including facial). In addition to cosmetic, non-invasive treatments and select invasive treatments, Beverly Hills Wellness and Aesthetics will offer a range of IV Drips, available in your hotel room or inside the clinic for outside guests of the hotel.
FIVE Hotels opened in 2019 its second location in Dubai at Jumeirah Circle Village. In 2021, FIVE debuted abroad with the opening of FIVE Zurich and the brand new FIVE Luxe JBR (Dubai) is estimated to open in 2024
