From the 1st of June to the 4th of October 2019, you’ll find an unlikely yacht moored at 10 Place de la Concorde. In honour of the 100th birthday of the celebrated Negroni, the classic Florentine cocktail, and in collaboration with Campari, Alexandre Benjamin Navet has created a theatrical, vibrantly multi-coloured décor for Hôtel de Crillon, A Rosewood Hotel.
Hôtel de Crillon’s Cour Gabriel has been transformed into a dreamlike getaway with Italian accents that evoke memories of boat rides in the turquoise coves of the Adriatic Sea, or walks with friends on sandy beaches.
Pay homage to one of the most iconic Italian cocktails by setting off on an enchanted interlude in a Dolce Vita atmosphere surrounded by Navet’s exclusive creations that are both modern and contemporary.
Throughout the summer, Hôtel de Crillon’s Executive Chef Boris Campanella and his team will transport you to a sun-kissed shore with an Italian-inspired menu: traditional Italian pasta with ricotta, mozzarella braids, grilled octopus, freshly-sliced Culatello di Zibello ham, and homemade gelato
Alexandre Benjamin Navet was born in 1986 and graduated from the École Nationale Supérieure de Création Industrielle – Les Ateliers (ENSCI). His work has been shown at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris and Villa Noailles in Hyères, and he won Van Cleef & Arpels’s Design Parade Grand Prize. He is the first artist to be given carte blanche to meld his artistic vision with Hôtel de Crillon’s environment and architecture, creating an immersive trompe-l’œil décor.
Navet’s work is inspired by bright colours, objects, and architectural forms, creating a connection between art, illustration, design, and architecture. He cultivates the art of décor in an intensely pigmented theatrical language to tell colourful stories. He is as comfortable with oil pastels as he is with the Japanese watercolours he collects, and he also explores digital illustration in his design projects.
