After more than 2 year absence from the Romanian market, HUGO BOSS opened earlier this year their first store in Romania, in the port city of Constanta. Unfortunately, the store in Constanta still continues to be operating at very low standards, mainly due to the location in the vicinity of second hand kiosks and derelict old buildings.
Last week, the same franchisee opened the second BOSS store, this time in the capital city of Bucharest. The store is situated on highstreet Calea Victoriei on the groundfloor of a new A class office building. While the store itself looks impecable designed with the brand’s latest concept, the visibility is very low, having just one window. The location on this side of Calea Victoriei where there is hardly any retail and no pedestrian traffic, coupled by the lack of parking will prove to be serious challenges for the newly opened BOSS store.
Mention should be made that previosuly BOSS was present in Romania through a franchising agreement with a FMCG distribution company. The lack of professional management and the unfortunate location led to the closing of the store 2 years ago.
