With a hotel career spanning 12 years, I have had the privilege to meet Ausra Lucinskaite in Bucharest at the iconic heritage luxury hotel of The Marmorosch, one of the city’s finest. She candidly shares she had been aware of The Marmorosch Hotel development – a spectacular transformation of a former bank right in the heart of Bucharest’ Old Town, which has been consistently attracting both local residents and foreign visitors.
The Marmorosch is without any doubt a one of a kind luxury hotel, a majestic building with a grand lobby and ample spaces, so rare nowadays in such development. The building extends a sense of prestige and belonging, and indirectly a sense of deep pride to be a customer / guest of the hotel. The building has been meticulously restored and renovated giving back its glory. ”I am so proud to be part of this project” says Ausra. ”I have been closely watching the development project unfold and I knew I would sooner or later be involved”
Since the day I arrived, I have felt in love with Bucharest but especially with Romanians who have such a unique sense of pride, joy and an insatiable energy. I have been amazed by the dedication, passion and drive of all my staff. Bonding a family came naturally and I am doing my very best to stay close to each and every one of my staff as well as to our guests. I enjoy being ”on the floor”, connected not only to my staff but also to our guests whether they are residing or not in the hotel. And we do listen ! We embrace feedback, knowing this is the foundation of the service we extend.
I focus a lot on details and I am doing my very best to please our guests regardless of the occasion they visit us. You see, this is not about luxury or a specific ranking (stars etc). It is about providing exceptional experiences for our guests aiming for their return. Our service is attentive, caring and most importantly, authentic. I believe we make each and every guest feel equally important, respected and appreciated. We do care – in a most genuine manner!
Nowadays travellers are more and more savvy and more and more educated. Many know exactly what to expect. I believe achieving a balance between desirability and value is of utmost experience. From the moment I took over, we have never seized to innovate and improvement, responding the the needs and wishes of our guests regardless of the purpose of their stay – corporate or leisure. Achieving a high service standard and maintaining consistency – is what drives us very single day. Reliability is paramount! Mention must also be made about our quest for innovation as we seek to improve at all fronts!
From my experience, I am confident that many Romanians working abroad will be returning especially is hotelier offer better conditions. Investment in the training of our staff is an ongoing activity. Under Marriott Intl’s Autograph Collection we are also offering opportunities for further development. Such an affiliation is essential for maintaining our standards. Under APEX Alliance, we have been developing some exceptional properties in Central & Eastern Europe, with so much more to come !
