Launching in June 2025, Splendido, A Belmond Hotel, Portofino will reveal Italy’s very first permanent Dior Spa, heralding a new era of indulgence and marking a significant milestone for the hotel, which has undergone a multi-phase renovation. Located on the second floor of Portofino’s original Grande Dame, with views over the Ligurian coastline, the indoor-outdoor space will offer a nature-inspired experience that complements the hotel’s existing Dior Jardin des Rêves, in the hotel’s beautiful gardens, embodying Splendido’s commitment to offering guests a holistic wellness retreat.
DIOR’S FIRST PERMANENT SPA IN ITALY
The Dior Spa Splendido continues the hotel’s legacy as an icon of style and elegance, with four treatment rooms immersed in a uniquely beautiful location. Conceived as a summer residence, reminiscent of Christian Dior’s beloved retreats in Granville, Milly La Foret and La Colle Noire, the Spa seamlessly blends tradition with contemporary design, synonymous with Belmond’s own vision.
Accessible via the hotel’s reception and gardens, the Dior Spa Splendido welcomes guests into an elegant lounge bathed in natural light, with earthy tones and completed with Dior’s finest skincare, makeup, and fragrance products. Set across two floors, the Spa includes three individual treatment rooms, one of which transforms into a beauty boudoir, as well as a majestic double cabin with uninterrupted views of the sea. Each is adorned with quartzite stone, oak wood, and design details inspired by Dior’s iconic Toile de Jouy, reinterpreted in soft lime tones
The centerpiece is the rooftop terrace, offering guests an oasis of relaxation post-treatment. Hemmed by lush gardens on the mountainside, it commands charming sea views. Here, natural materials such as rattan, reed canopies, and cotton drapes create a shaded cocoon around lounge chairs and a wellness bar serving bespoke beverages.
TRANSFORMATIVE TREATMENTS, INSPIRED BY NATURE
The extensive menu offers a selection of treatments designed for body, face and mind, drawing inspiration from the hotel’s unique location, in the protected National Park of Portofino, at the heart of the Ligurian bay. Inspired by the stars and the moon, the signature ‘Splendidior’ treatment harnesses the energetic power of semi-precious stones, whilst ‘New Look’, ‘D-Tissue’, and ‘Constellation’ are full body treatments aimed at redefining the silhouette, release tension and reoxygenate muscles, for deep relaxation.
The ‘Kobi-Dior’, ‘Golden Aura’, and ‘Dior Powered by Hydrafacial’ facial treatments incorporate the best anti- aging techniques. ‘La Dolce Vita Therapy’ combines the refined facilities of the Spa with the tranquillity of the gardens at Splendido, featuring a yoga session, a relaxing body massage, and a radiance-enhancing facial. ‘A Getaway in Portofino’ starts with a lunch at the Splendido Grill, overlooking Portofino Bay, and a ‘Splendidior’ treatment.
THE SPLENDIDO LEGACY
Originally built as a monastic retreat centuries ago, today Splendido epitomises an elevated sense of otherworldliness. It is a place to reconnect with oneself and the surrounding world, bathed in the warmth of Ligurian sunshine. The phased renovation by Martin Brudnizki Design Studio is a celebration of the region and its abundant nature, visible from the Dior Splendido Spa rooftop.
Wisteria cascades down the hotel’s historic walls, while palms and blooms are dotted across the garden landscape — every moment framed by a captivating view. As a haven of panoramic peace, interior designer Martin Brudnizki has blended the hotel’s historic charm with contemporary luxury, enhancing its allure while preserving its storied heritage.
EXPERIENCES IN LIGURIA
At Splendido guests can indulge in a myriad of unique experiences that capture the essence of the Italian Riviera. The hilltop hideaway, in the heart of the Portofino Regional Natural Park, allows for a relaxing stay with guided walks led by botanists or yoga lessons in the hotel’s secret garden.
Adventure enthusiasts can embark on boat excursions exploring the Tigullio Gulf and the historic San Fruttuoso Abbey or take scenic trekking routes and electric bike rides through the trails of the Mount of Portofino. Guests can also enjoy exclusive experiences at La Portofinese, such as guided tours to the local olive groves and vineyards or to the lighthouse. Additionally, bespoke cultural trips to Genoa offer an opportunity to explore the rich history and vibrant culture of this nearby city.
