Luxury footwear and accessories brand, Jimmy Choo, has today announced an upcoming collaboration is on the horizon with the French fashion house of Jean Paul Gaultier. The exclusive capsule collection of footwear fuses two create identities, founded on a “shared vision of powerful, confident and glamorous femininity”.
Both brands have a seemingly contrasting sprit. For example, 1996-founded Jimmy Choo exudes vivacious glamour with skyrocketing heels, often heavily doused in pearl and crystal embellishments. In contrast, 1976-founded Jean Paul Gaultier is a Parisian paradox – fusing shock with chic. JPG styles often depict sailor stripes, tattoo prints and body framing corsetry.
The collection will be co-designers by the houses Creative Director’s Sandra Choi and Florence Tétier, who will fuse both brands archival legacies. This comes just days after Jean Paul Gaultier made headlines after inviting Simone Rocha to be its guest couturier. Rocha, who’s renowned for her heavily embellished looks, will take helm at Jean Paul Gaultier in January 2024 during Paris Couture Week.
The Jimmy Choo / Jean Paul Gaultier collection will be available in selected stores globally and online in October 2023.
