With the occasion of its 15th anniversary, Tamara Mellon, founder of JIMMY CHOO has unveiled in New York a capsule collection of 15 iconic styles from the company’s archives. The shoes are priced US$ 850 – US$ 3.785 and will be available exclusively at Jimmy Choo mono-brand stores worldwide. The collection includes the famous stilettos worn by Tamara Mellon at Buckingham Palace when receiving the OBE honor from HM Queen Elisabeth II.
With the occasion of the launch, Mellon spoke to WWD about Jimmy Choo’s new owner, Austrian based LABELUX Group ”I feel like Jimmy Choo has found the right home now. Labelux has a completely different vision to private equity – brand building versus financial engineering”. She added ”It takes 30 years for a luxury brand to mature…and we are only 15”.
