José Silva is stepping down as CEO of Jumeirah Group after almost 5 years, according to an email seen by Hotelier Middle East, sent to Jumeirah staff confirming his departure. Silva was the fourth CEO of Jumeirah, having replaced interim CEO Marc Dardenne. Before that, the role was held by Stefan Leser and Gerald Lawless.
Under his tenure the company has retained its solid positioning in Dubai announcing the ultra-luxury Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab which is currently under construction. New properties opened in Capri, Muscat, Bali and Maldives, while the Carlton Tower Jumeirah in London underwent a multi-million dollar renovation.
In the email sent to Jumeirah Group staff, Silva wrote: “It is with a heavy heart I inform you that I will be leaving Jumeirah and embarking on a new chapter of my career” nevertheless, he has not announced any further details.
Silva arrived to Jumeirah after a 25 year tenure with Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts. He was regional Area Vice President and General Manager of the iconic Four Seasons Hotel George V in Paris
