Dubai Holding and Sevens Holding SPC announced in November 2017 the signing of a management agreement for Jumeirah Group to operate a luxury hotel in Bahrain. The 167-key hotel, which will be called Jumeirah Royal Saray – Bahrain, is scheduled to open February 27, 2018.
The news followed Jumeirah Group reporting an overall 5% increase in the number of room nights and 6% increase in room revenues in 2017 compared to the same period last year. The hotel group also maintained stable year on year occupancy matching the same period in 2016. The GCC region accounted for 21% of the overall occupancy throughout the year.
