Kempinski Hotel Corvinus in Budapest, Hungary has recently unveiled its renovated and re-designed public spaces including the lobby (including a Living Room library space, a new bistro (ÉS Bisztró) and a new bar (Blue Fox the Bar). The refurbishment project of Kempinski Budapest, opened almost 2 decades ago, has been coordinated by London based MKV Design.
The main entrance and lobby has been given a dramatic make-over, instilling a Wow factor – a 30-foot circular glazed roof towers over marble floors, while glass fibre acrylic panels cover the walls. Referencing the city’s musical heritage, an alternating keyboard pattern makes up the lobby’s marble pathway, and a staircase from the grand floor recalls Budapest’s Art Nouveau style with a sweeping structure and a perforated metal balustrade.
