Starting today, the Japanese Chef Nobu Matsuhisa and his team of master sushi makers will make Le Royal Monceau, Raffles Paris their winter home. Guests will be welcomed to restaurant La Cuisine to discover the revolutionary Japanese Cuisine – and to sample the dishes which have secured Nobu’s success the world over; from Los Angeles to Tokyo, Athens to Las Vegas, and London to Mykonos.
Sea urchin sushi and Ōtoro and chūtoro tuna sashimi sit alongside Chilean sea bass with a Jalapeño pepper sauce, spicy tuna sushi rolls and Kushiyaki skewers of Wagyu beef: the dishes served at La Cuisine will embody Nobu Matsuhisa’s contemporary and cosmopolitan take on Japanese gastronomy, blending Asian food with South American influences.
Each evening for two months, guests at La Cuisine will be able to enjoy à la carte dishes, as well as having the opportunity to experience ‘Omakase’, the traditional Chef’s Choice tasting. Seven spectacular dishes are served for the whole table, including classic plates of black cod with miso and yuzu, tuna sashimi salad and the Whisky Cappucino desert, for €150 per person.
To accompany the dishes, a wide selection of sake will be imported specially from the Hokusetsu House brewery on the northern Japanese Isle of Sado. The sakes will be served both hot and cold, in traditional porcelain or bamboo decanters. To celebrate the team’s arrival, Le Royal Monceau’s Le Bar Long will also introduce a menu of Asian inspired cocktails – including a delicious Passionfruit Martini and a Lychee Martini.
