French luxury house Loewe, owned by LVMH, inaugurated this week its enlarged production facility in Getafe, outside Madrid. The new space doubles the compay’s production capacity and will be creating up to 200 new jobs by 2015. The Loewe production facility in Getafe enlarges from 6.890 sqm to 15.000 sqm,with the number of employees growing from 250 to 430. The new space include a research and development centre as well as machinery that will allow Loewe to bring in-house the entire process of leather processing and cutting. In partnership with the Spanish Government, Loewe is also launching a craftsmanship school in Getafe, aimed at preserving the exceptional ”savoir faire” in leather processing and manufacturing.
