Loro Piana re-opens its flagship store in Dubai Mall, following an extensive renovation. The store is the first in the world to showcase the new Loro Piana concept and exclusive VIP clients saloons, offering an exquisite blend of traditional elegance and contemporary design and inviting customers to indulge in an unparalleled luxury shopping experience.
The new store concept and interior design direction showcases Loro Piana’s iconic enduring style, preserving the core elements of natural materials, warm colour palette, signature oak wood and Carabottino details. It is a concrete return to the maison’s heritage and Sergio Loro Piana’ legacy, whose codes are now reworked in a thoroughly timeless and modern key.
The whole space is characterized by a faultless fusion of sophistication and comfort, intended to evoke a ‘home from home’ feeling, and it creates a luminous and luxurious environment. Finishing and surfaces are rich in textures, and together with the sumptuous touch of the fabrics used for upholstery, directly recalls the sensoriality of the House. Warm earthy tones of Kummel, combined with soft lighting, further adds to the alluring and enveloping ambiance.
Located in the heart of Dubai Mall’s Fashion Avenue, the newly refurbished store has doubled in size to sit over two floors with an elevator and an exquisite private entrance adjoining the two sections.
The first floor is for the sole use of VIP clients, only available through private appointments and accessible through an ultra-refined private entrance, with exclusive and dedicated saloons where VIP clients can explore an extensive range of garments and accessories from the Fall Winter 2023-2024 Collection and exclusive Dubai Mall Capsule Collection, through unparalleled comfort and privacy. With the discerning VIP client in mind, this new floor offers dedicated staff committed to providing an unrivaled level of service, ensuring that every customer feels valued and receives personalised consummate attention.
Two dedicated areas for VIP clients made up the entire upper floor. They are private and comfortable rooms whose interiors are enriched with refined wood boiseries, champagne metal details and fine silk panelling by Loro Piana Interiors. The whole area is inspired by a private wardrobe: an intimate and exclusive environment, built around the concept of the “Wunderkammer”, a luxurious space enriched by private showcases, in which the most exclusive products are displayed, especially selected for the VIP clients.
Both VIP clients saloons features handcrafted and luxurious furnishings. In the centre of each room there is a handmade wool and silk carpet together with sofas and armchairs; the upholstered furniture has been created using Loro Piana’s cashmere and copper, two precious materials that dialogue with each other in opposition. The copper, in fact, together with the marble in Medicean breccia used for the coffee table, creates an interesting contrast with the warmth and softness of the cashmere, and adds a touch of Kummel to the room in line with the rest of the boutique.
To further enrich the décor, a refined and sophisticated chandelier is placed in the centre of the lounge area. Through its organic shapes and warm and welcoming light, it emphasises the intimate and comfortable atmosphere of this exclusive VIP clients saloons.
On the ground floor, as clients enter, they are greeted with a personalized assistance. The reimagined store layout allows for a seamless navigation, guiding store visitors through distinct areas for both women’s and men’s Collections on entering.
Clients are welcomed by an entry dedicated to accessories with a central wall displaying leather goods Collections, leading to individual dedicated shoe and ready-to-wear areas for women and men. The space is developed as a path, accompanying the customer from the entrance to the most intimate final part of the store. The first one is dedicated to accessories with a central focus on handbags’ display. Next, the journey continues
by dividing into parallel universes dedicated to women and men separately. First the spaces dedicated to shoes, enriched by touches of Kummel and fine materials such as Red Jasper marble. The customer experience at this point continues to the rooms dedicated to RTW, located in the quieter and more private end of the store.
Each display for product category is custom designed according to the product it shows, with special attention to details and embellished with materials from the natural world, such as oak wood treated in signature Carabottino, which becomes the leitmotif of the saloon path. Carabottino also returns in the drawers, this time treated in a mineral manner with marble in shades of Kummel, which echoes the House’s signature colour. To enhance these elements, a metal in warm tone was chosen to match the atmosphere of the store.
Wall coverings and seating are made through the use of Loro Piana Interiors fabrics, with special emphasis on Cashmere, which enriches the space through its fine texture and softness.
Remaining faithful to the maison’s timeless and distinctive ethos, the store’s savoir faire façade, inspired by the soft and wavy texture of Loro Piana fabrics, is reimagined by architects Jun Aoki and Yoshihiko Takeuchi in handmade terracotta ceramic tiles, combining tradition with innovation. The Made in Italy tiles are realized in glazed ceramic in different shades of iconic Loro Piana Kummel, impactfully degrading in colour from top to bottom. The impressive architectural elements, meticulous attention to detail, and luxurious materials enhance the stunning façade, reflecting the brand’s commitment to craftsmanship.
The re-opening of the Loro Piana flagship store in Dubai Mall marks an exciting new chapter in the brand’s history, reaffirming its position as a purveyor of exquisite craftsmanship, timeless style, and incomparable luxury in the Middle East.
