Following its launch into the UK with two London stores, upscale cosmetics brand Malin + Goetz has opened three new stores in the US in New York, Santa Monica and LA.
Malin + Goetz has partnered with design studio Messana O’Rorke to create three different store designs that appeal to the different demographics in each location. Each store features a hero design element intended to unify the space.
To reflect the sky-scraper, high-density living of New York, 16ft shelving features in the Upper Eastside store. The floor-to-ceiling shelves are displayed in the store windows and are carried on throughout the in-store space.
For the LA outlet, a single-structure, ribbon shelf is woven throughout the entire store. This dramatic feature provides a clinical yet colourful display of the Malin + Goetz range and is clever way to ensure the product remains the hero.
Finally, the Santa Monica layout has more of a laid-back feel and is located in a semi-detached house. Here wood is a key feature with flooring and a gallery-style wall that divides the interior.
