Mandarin Oriental, Geneva has opened a new pop-up restaurant to enjoy the beautiful season, Le Ryad at Mandarin Oriental. A charming living space inside Café Calla decorated in an Arabic style, the Ryad will serve culinary specialties inspired by the Middle East, with a decidedly contemporary approach, from 15 June to 22 September 2017.
The luxury Genovese hotel, which regularly demonstrates innovation through its varied culinary events, will surprise its hosts this summer with this authentic ryad, in the heart of the city. Based on an original proposal by Nasser Jeffane, chef of Café Calla, under the benevolent supervision of the Mandarin Oriental, Geneva’s executive chef, Yoann Le Bihan, this gastronomic concept will offer a cuisine sun-drenched with heady Middle-Eastern flavors, revisited with a modern flair.
Several typically Moroccan and Lebanese dishes are served alongside delicacies from Northern Africa and the Middle-East. The unmissable Couscous with chicken, the Fish Tagine or Beef Tangia, are just some of the other specialties. Finally, a few Middle Eastern delicacies, such as the Mahalabiya (rose flavored pudding) or the pastille with milk and orange blossom, are a sublime close to this sensory voyage.
The decor is both warm and refined, composed of elegant arabesques, terracotta tiles, a charming central fountain, reminiscent of those that enliven the inner courtyards of ryads. You will immediately be transported to one of the most beautiful destinations in the Middle East.
In this unique setting, we encourage you to enjoy a traditional tea or try our selection of Lebanese and Moroccan à la carte wines.
The Ryad will be open from Monday through Saturday, for lunch and dinner from noon to 2 pm and 7 to 10 pm.
