British luxury shoe make Manolo Blahnik announced the launch of its first jewellery line this March. The jewellery line will be produced and distributed by Spanish chain TOUS, which has over 300 boutiques worldwide. This follows Blahnik’s first collaboration with London’ Liberty Department store.
As the founder and designer said, he had been reluctant to such collaborations, yet the recession has forced him to keep up. The brand has been underperforming in the shadow of its direct competitors Jimmy Choo and and Christian Louboutin.
Founded in the 20s, family owned jewellery brand Tous teamed up with Manolo Blahnik to launch an exclusive jewellery piece portraying the iconic ‘Campari’ shoe by the designer.
Manolo Blahnik boutiques and luxury stores internationally will follow and carry Manolo’s first jewellery charm. With the collaboration, Tous is evolving more into a lifestyle brand with its accessory, perfume and watch collections.
