Luxury high-performance sports carmaker McLaren is expanding its presence in Qatar and Saudi Arabia following an exceptionally strong sales at the beginning of 2013 across the Middle East. The recent opening of the McLaren showroom in Manama, Bahrain, will be followed by the first McLaren showroom in Qatar, due to open in Doha at the end of May and a temporary showroom in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, also due this month.
The Middle East region currently takes about 10 percent of all McLaren 12C model production, wheras demand for the new P1 model in the Middle East is persuading regional executives to try and secure well over that allocation. But with just 375 P1 models confirmed to be built from late-2013, the car will still remain a rarity on the roads of Manama, Dubai or Riyadh.
