ME by Meliá, the luxury lifestyle brand of the Melia Hotels Group announced the opening of two new hotels this spring. ME Cabo is a 162-room property that re-opened this month following a $16 million renovation. ME Miami, the brand’s first property in the U.S., features 129-rooms and will open in April.
Locally based architects Patricia Rios and Leonardo Díaz Borioli have worked with Mexico City-based Alejandra Contreras on the ME Cabo. The design of the rooms, which include 62 suites, blends Mexican culture with modern resort amenities. New F&B options include TullPu, a signature Peruvian restaurant concept developed by the team at Meliá; Rose Bar, which features global DJ headliners and a new members-only Sub Rosa lounge; and a poolside beach club developed in partnership with Blue Marlin Ibiza. Other amenities include the YHI Spa, which features ayurvedic treatments, and Suite ME, a space that allows celebrity DJs to entertain at private parties.
Proffetional Interior Design led the design of ME Miami, with locally based Zyscovich Architects as architects. The neutral-toned color palette is reflected in many of the materials used including white marble, light Italian oak, and bright steel. Guestrooms range in size from the 392-square-foot Aura Room to the 2,200-square-foot Suite ME, which offers floor to ceiling views of downtown Miami and Biscayne Bay. Artwork by photographer Alberto Van Stokkum hangs throughout the property. Other features include 14,000 square feet of combined indoor and outdoor meeting and event space; the Aura Lounge and STK restaurant by the ONE Group; and two outdoor pools on the 14th floor.
