Mercedes-Benz‘s new AMG GT excels both in terms of predictability and practicality. It has a proper hatchback trunk so there’s 350 liters of space for luggage, and it comes with a host of cutting-edge driver aid technologies including semi-autonomous systems — such as parking assist, collision avoidance and automatic emergency braking.
The range-topping ‘S’ variant can go from 0-62mph (100km/h) in 3.8 seconds, and onto a top speed just shy of 200mph (320km/h), thanks to an all-new bi-turbo hand-assembled V8 engine, yet it is capable of returning 30mpg on the combined cycle and CO2 emissions of 219 g/km. The new AMG GT will be on sales next with an estimated price tag of US$175,000.
