In this instance, the Italian brand has taken as its starting point the products that it sells and then worked with them to create a pop-up that is surprising purely by dint of taking something everyday, albeit at the luxury end of the market, and blowing it up to fashion outsize icons. Practically, this means that this is an ‘espace ephemere’ that has zips and handbags at its heart.
The gold zips are used as graphics and are semi-undone, in a suggestive manner, with a hatted teddy bear emerging from one of them. Then there is the bag. This is white, with black handles and serves as the platform for a bevvy of mannequins wearing Moschino clothing. It’s an arresting series of images and is in keeping with the brand’s tongue-in-cheek nature.
The Moschino pop-up is in place until the beginning of July.
