Net-A-Porter (YNAP – Richemont Group) has launched a ‘Colombian Collective’, bringing together a selection of capsule collections designed by 13 Colombian designers which will launch exclusively on the luxury retailer’s site on 15 January.
This is the first time that an international luxury firm has dedicated a shopping edit to Colombian brands. The curated selection presents 65 products across womenswear, swimwear, footwear, handbags, accessories and jewellery, paying homage to the techniques and crafts of Colombian design, whilst celebrating local talent.
The line-up of brands and designers includes Silvia Tcherassi, Johanna Ortíz, Esteban Cortázar, Mercedes Salazar, Bibi Marini, Mallarino, Carolina Santo Domingo, Muzungu Sisters, Huntington Season, Magnetic Midnight, Verdi Design, Verde Limón and The Lazy Poet.
Elizabeth von der Goltz, global buying director at Net-A-Porter said “We asked each designer to create something bespoke for us, and to use their country as an inspiration. Each capsule represents a beautiful sensibility with unique designs, femininity, optimism and a real sense of love for their country shining through. We especially love the fact that these designers are all friends, supporting one and other alongside the local artisans.”
The collections describe different aspects of the South American country and its rise after the war. According to Esteban Cortazar, the country has found a passion which continues to attract buyers from all over the world.
