Nobu Hotel Barcelona, a member of the prestigious Preferred Hotels & Resorts Collection, has officially opened its doors on September 20th 2019. The 259 key four star superior property which is owned by Spanish hotel group Selenta also houses the city’s first Nobu Restaurant along with the Japanese-inspired tapas bar, Kozara. This is the second city hotel for Nobu Hospitality in Europe after London
Positioned on the top floor of the 23-storey property, guests can dine at Nobu’s world-famous namesake while taking in unrivalled views of the Barcelona city line and the Mediterranean. The menu will reflect Nobu’s philosophy of locality, paying homage to local ingredients and classic Catalan cuisine while staying true to the brand’s Japanese DNA. In the lobby, Kozara will serve Japanese style tapas and cocktails using the widest and most unique range of sakes and Japanese whiskeys in town.
Located in the charming Catalan neighbourhood of Eixample, the hotel is just a five minute stroll from Plaza de España, a mere 15 minutes from Barcelona’s buzzy La Rambla and a short walk to the main railway station for high speed links to Madrid, Paris, Lyon and Marseille. It is consequently ideal for laid-back luxury explorers and business travellers alike.
Nobu Hotel Barcelona is the fourth European and third Spanish property from the internationally renowned hospitality brand founded by Robert De Niro, Nobu Matsuhisa and Meir Teper.
The ‘affordable luxury’ positioning of the hotel with an opening rate of EUR 250 is not only driven by the brand DNA but also by the location in an area of Barcelona considered as corporate. Rates at leading luxury contemporary style hotels Mandarin Oriental Barcelona and Almanac Barcelona start from EUR 500.
In London, where Nobu Hotels operates its first European city hotel, Nobu Hotel Shoreditch (newly built), a second property is expected to open downtown at Portman Square however this one being the conversion of a former hotel. Given the West End location, the second Nobu Hotels London property is likely to boast higher rates than its first one.
