Luxury Swiss watch-maker OMEGA (owned by Swatch Group) has created three special edition Omega Seamaster wrist-watches to honour the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games. The commemorative timepieces are inspired by the Olympic spirit and the colours of the flag of the host country.
The OMEGA Seamaster Planet Ocean 45.5 mm “Sochi 2014” Limited Edition has a 45.5 mm brushed and polished stainless steel case and a matching bracelet. Its unidirectional rotating diving bezel is fitted with a matt black ceramic ring with a chromium nitride divers’ scale.The white dot at 12 o’clock on the diving bezel is followed by blue- and red-lacquered markers for minutes 1-5 and 6-10, respectively – a tribute to the flag of the Russian Federation. The Seamaster Planet Ocean 45.5 mm “Sochi 2014” Limited Edition is powered by the OMEGA Co-Axial calibre 8500.
The OMEGA Seamaster Planet Ocean 37.5 mm “Sochi 2014” Limited Edition. Inspired by the colours of the flag of the Russian Federation, the 37.5 mm brushed and polished stainless steel case has a white ceramic unidirectional rotating bezel with minutes 1 through 5 lacquered in blue and minutes 6 through 10 lacquered in red. This timepiece, ideally sized for women, has a brushed screw-in caseback embossed with the “Sochi 2014” Olympic logo.
The OMEGA Sochi Petrograd. The “tonneau” shape of the polished 18K yellow gold case is one of the most fascinating design features of this timepiece and brings back a favoured style from an earlier era. The commemorative timepiece is powered by OMEGA’s exclusive calibre 2202 with a Co-Axial escapement and special luxury finish.
