One&Only Cape Town has launched the ultimate destination suite – The One Above. Extending over two floors, The Penthouse encompasses four guest rooms and spaces for indoor and outdoor living and entertaining. It occupies the prime position at the very top of the resort, affording views of Table Mountain and the surrounding city.
Atop One&Only Cape Town, situated in the bustling Victoria & Albert Waterfront, the Penthouse also affords views to Robben Island, Devils Peak, Lions Head and the Cape Town Harbour via floor-to-ceiling windows and expansive outdoor terraces. Famous attractions are on the resort’s doorstep with beaches, mountains, shops, restaurants, wine farms, history, art and culture all to explore.
The One Above spans 1,275 square metres across two floors. It comprises four spacious ensuite bedrooms, three lounges each offering a different ambience, a library, reading corner, study with fireplace, fully equipped gym and sauna, kitchen and scullery with private service entrance, a formal dining area, breakfast and coffee area, an informal dining and relaxation lounge, along with two separate outdoor entertainment spaces – both with a private pool, inspiring views and barbecue facilities.
There are large outdoor spaces on both floors offering 360° views and spaces for groups of friends or multi-generational families travelling together to entertain simultaneously but separately – each area is exclusive and independent. The first-floor deck is the larger of the two, and includes an outdoor shower, private pool, bar, barbecue and catering area, long dining table and pool loungers. The second floor has a wrap-around terrace, also with its own private pool, as well as water feature, barbecue area and seating.
The One Above is thoughtfully decorated with small details and touches, allowing guests to enjoy moment after moment of discovery and providing a residential, luxury ambiance. Features include a black grand piano to entertain or be entertained, state-of-the-art appliances including a professional coffee machine and temperature-controlled glass wine cellar which can house over 280 bottles, hand-selected for guests by one of the resort’s expert sommeliers.
The One Above can sleep up to eight adults; each of the four luxuriously appointed bedrooms feature ensuite bathrooms and unobstructed views of Table Mountain and the waterways below. The Master Bedroom has its own private terrace, comfortable seating areas, walk-in wardrobe, ample and considered storage space, large bed and a lavish marble his-and-hers ensuite bathroom complete with dual vanity, separate showers, and a Jacuzzi tub with mountain views. This glamorous space is completed with a fireplace, mirrors and opulent fabrics and finishes to make for the ultimate private retreat.
Guests staying at The One Above enter via a private entranceway and an elevator takes them directly to the sixth floor. While The One Above offers ample space and amenities for dining, living and entertaining, guests can also take advantage of all the services the resort has to offer from dining experiences and the One&Only Spa located on its own private island, to experiences designed to discover the hidden sides of the city.
Rates for The One Above at One&Only Cape Town start from US$13,100 per night for 2019.
