Opened in 2003, the Park Hyatt Milan is housed within a heritage palace building dating back to 1870 – which is uniquely positioned in one of Milan’s most prestigious destinations, the breathtaking Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II – Italy’s oldest active shopping gallery and a major historical landmark of Italy. The Galleria features a four-story double arcade (enclosed), housing flagship stores of all major international luxury.
Galleria Vittorio Emanulele II connects Piazza Duomo with Teatro alla Scala and the ‘Golden Triangle’, the prime shopping of the metropolis. At first, the location could appear overwhelming considering the huge footfall within Galleria and the surrounding attractions. But the exceptional architectural beauty and its grandeur can have a lasting effect on you – and then you will understand its landmark, iconic value for the city.
Once you will stay at the hotel, you will become aware of the beautiful contrast between the tranquility and serenity of the hotel on one side and the incredible bustle and energy of the city on the other side. The hotel becomes more like an urban oasis, the choice of pace being entirely up to you. Regardless of the event, fashion week or furniture fair, Park Hyatt Milan has always hosted the top VIPs, whether celebrities or wealthy shoppers from all over the world.
From opening, the Park Hyatt firmly established itself not only as one of the city’s finest luxury hotels but also as a true global flagship for the Park Hyatt brand, where ultimate sophistication is achieved through simplicity, while delivering consistent superlative service standards. The original interiors were conceived by Ed Tuttle, the visionary architect who defined the DNA of Aman Resorts, most of them iconic to this day. Park Hyatt Milan has consistently exceeded its reputation, not only for the service and product but also for the ultimate comfort and safety it has always provided.
Park Hyatt Milan has a grand entrance – the ample La Cupola Lounge occupies a central position in the hotel, where guests can dine at any time of the day – breakfast is a treat! Located under a soaring glass cupola, the Lobby Lounge features the use of Milanese Travertine stone, combined with fine wood and mirrors to re-create an elegant yet understated feel. This is the hotel’s main meeting place and is located under a 9m-high glass dome, flooded by natural daylight. It is enriched by the Lucio Fontana sculpture, The Medusa’s Head.
After a two year renovation, the Park Hyatt Milan has emerged even more splendid, exacerbating all the key components of the brand DNA. Accommodations are now brighter, having enhanced significantly both comfort and functionality. You will adore the oversized bathrooms, with separate glass enclosed walk-in shower and a free-standing bathtub. With the renovation works, details such as shower water pressure are perfect.
Soundproofing is flawless and so is the AC which is at the same time serene and very efficient. The large travertine bathrooms resemble more of like a private Spa. Beds are heavenly comfortable with a full set of the finest Italian high thread cotton linen. Particular attention has been paid to lighting as well, not no mention the luxury bathroom amenities.
The ratio of suites versus rooms is ideal (30 suites out of a total of 118 rooms) making the product ideal for a wider traveller profile, whether on business or leisure, alone or with friends and family. The hotel features 30 executive suites, which are 56m² in area. The 115-155m² Diplomatic Suite and the 160-270m² Presidential Suite are also available. The suites can be configured with one or two bedrooms and a large living room. The Diplomatic Suite features a living area and master bedroom, both opening onto a large terrace. The Presidential Suite has two private terraces with spectacular views over the Milanese rooftops and the Cathedral spires.
The Park Hyatt Milano hotel’s interiors were designed by Ed Tuttle, who is also renowned for his work at Park Hyatt Paris-Vendome. Tuttle created an interior that combines the original 19th-century Milanese style with a contemporary approach. Italian Travertine stone is used throughout the building. The carpet forms a cruciform shape, and is woven in colours designed to match four rose granite urns in the lobby. Decoration is understated but with rich colour accents that are pleasing to the eye.
The Mio Lab Bar which has both indoor and outdoor seating on Via Silvio Pellico has been and continues to be recognised as one of the most sought after bars in Milan. The bar is furnished with black leather seats and circular gunmetal tables, has floor to ceiling windows opening onto the Galleria and has a gunmetal finish on bronze and glass shelving, recreating a very sleek Milanese atmosphere. It is an ideal venue for a pre-dinner drink or an afternoon coffee. Similarly to the other public venues, the hotel has a solid based of local patrons, making it an ideal mix of clients.
The newly opened gourmet restaurant Pellico 3 Milano is helmed by young and talented Italian Executive Chef Guido Paternollo – his culinary philosophy draws inspiration from different places and traditions of the Mediterranean area, creating an intertwining of different and sophisticated flavors. Cuisine and seasonality go hand in hand, with meticulous attention in terms of research and selection of ingredients, strictly linked to the roots of the Mediterranean cuisine and that of Italian tradition of craftsmanship. Service is outstanding and so is the presentation and quality of the food is impeccable!
AQVAM SPA is located on the lower ground floor of the hotel and is available to hotel guests and select visitors. Facilities include a 24-hour state-of-the-art gym as well as steam rooms and hammam. There are also two spacious treatment rooms with their own aromatherapy showers and dressing areas. The Spa also features the Private Spa Room for guests seeking total privacy. London based 111SKIN, is the main skincare brand featured at the Spa.
Following the renovation, the hotel added a brand new beauty salon on the second floor – Beppe D’Elia Hair Jewellery – known for celebrity styling and fashion weeks. The new venue designed by Beppe D’Elia has proven to be a magnet for both in-house guests and non residing guests – at hand for any type of event you may be invited to attend. During the fashion week calendars earlier this year, the hair salon was a major hotspot.
Service is attentive, personalised as well as individualised. Staff are effortlessly recognising and remembering your wishes and preferences. Attention to detail not only applies to the product but also to service. Park Hyatt Hotels has built a reputation globally for the ultimate service standards which are fully embodied by the Milan outpost. Service consistency, product relevance and desirability firmly maintain the property among the finest in Milan.
