Steps from Place Vendome, other major attractions and the most prestigious luxury shopping, Park Hyatt Paris Vendome is a discreet Palace ranked hotel, with a unique blend of contemporary and understated design with a cozy home-feel. Days after pandemic closure re-opening, I was utterly impressed with the hotel buzzing almost on a regular day. Dining venues were full from breakfast to dinner, with an solid loyal clientele, both local and foreign.
The hotel has been flourishing since reputed luxury veteran hotelier Claudio Ceccherelli took over, after extensive experience at other iconic luxury hotels such as the Park Hyatt Milan and Villa d’Este. It is Claudio’s incredible business sense and entrepreneurial spirit which, nowadays can be invaluable. It is through humbleness, incessant passion for luxury and for hospitality.
For the past 5 years, Park Hyatt Paris Vendome has been the best performing Palace ranked hotel in Paris. The suite collection of the hotel which are so often frequented by many celebrities offer the best price / offering ratio, especially the mid range sized suites. Rooms are among the largest in Paris, with superb bedding, impeccable sound-proofing and spectacular oversized all-limestone bathrooms.
Open quite early, in September, while 80% of other Palace hotels remain closed, was not a challenge for Claudio. It was an incredible opportunity to further innovate. Last year the hotel conducted a comprehensive renovation, which has now made easier the implementation of the strictest safety and hygiene measures to protect both staff and guests from Covid-19. The hotel is even implementing automatically disinfecting handles on all heavy-used doors – after each use.
Compared to many hotels I experienced during the pandemic, Park Hyatt had the same incredible vibe, with an ideal mix of guests, even during these times more predominantly French. He is taking things one step further completely transforming an natural light crystal glass enclosed space, turning it into a brand new lunch and dinner venue – chic, sleek, yet with a glam twist (Opening end of Oct. 20).
On Sept 28, the Michelin starred PURE fine dining restaurant is reopening. Claudio is also ‘cooking’ an exceptional offering with his incredibly talented young Pastry Chef. The hugely successful Winter Swiss Chalet pop-up installation of the past years, is already confirmed for late November. I am excitedly looking forward to the renovations of the Spa, which is truly heavenly – signature products by La Mer not to mention the mystery surrounded Bar, which should be a major surprise, in a most unusual and unexpected magical transformation.
All in all, Park Hyatt Paris Vendome is probably the best Illustration of Hyatt’s understanding of luxury. Maintaining a consistently very very high standards throughout all departments and venues is probably the biggest achievement. Staff would politely address you by name at all interactions and would most often remember preferences.
The confidence that staff exude, their smile is what makes any one of us safe. If they feel safe, guest will feel safe too. I almost did not even realise that staff would wear a mask (at all times, indoor or outdoor) and most importantly, it also felt most effortless for me too – almost like natural.
The discreet nature of the property also translates in venues not being crowded at any time – not only because of the imposed social distancing. Once more travel corridors are set up, Park Hyatt Paris Vendome (actually owned by Hyatt Inc) will be a perfect choice for certain target markets who would be seeking privacy – what better rare ‘guarantee’ of a property being owned and operated by the same group. Extensive outdoor space, including large opening windows are yet another major advantage in combating the pandemic.
Park Hyatt Paris Vendome, the early opening during pandemic and constant exceptional investments – stand proof for Hyatt’s unique expertise in luxury, with a long term commitment for the Park Hyatt brand, with a unique positioning in the world of luxury.
