Enjoying not only an enviable location right on Lake Geneva with panoramic views of the Montblanc, President Wilson Hotel boasts a unique sleek contemporary interior design, securing a unique positioning among luxury hotels in Geneva. Inundated by daylight and adorned with luxurious design elements such as fireplaces and lavish lighting, the public spaces at President Wilson offer the most diverse opportunities for guests, whether sitting by and enjoying lake views over a tea or a cocktail at the bar or having a business meeting.
You will also be impressed by the flower set up’s, not only in the lobby and reception but also in the rooms. Flowers are not just ”details”, but rather make up installations, meant to provide a WOW factor at every given time of the day (I loved the the ”flowing” orchids arrangements in the rooms, at the time of my stay). I could think of many luxury hotels who could take inspiration by the beautiful flower arrangements at President Wilson Hotel.
Dining is also at its highest standards, with a diverse cuisine offering, from the sophisticated one Michelin starred Bayview by celebrated Chef Michel Roth who also runs the Japanese concept UMAMI to the Lebanese cuisine at the exquisitely decorated Arabesque Restaurant. A rich buffet breakfast is served daily in the dedicated Glowing Salon.
However, the Spa proved to be a major highlight of my stay, both in decor and quality of services. The only Spa in Switzerland to offer exclusively La Mer products and signature treatments, the Spa at President Wilson also commands an exceptional quality of service. My facial was performed by Olga, a highly trained beautician, with a genuine passion to provide the ultimate Spa experience. Similarly to the interior design of the hotel, the Spa is also dominated by a palette of white and cream colours, warm, soothing and sophisticated at the same time.
Rooms and suites are fairly large and Lake view are worth the premium. Floor to ceiling windows offer sweeping views of the lake, mornings and sunsets making up for unique moments during one’s stay. Luxury details in the rooms include amenities by Hermes (Jardin sur le Nile line – rarely available as hotel amenities), finest Italian silk cotton linen and Bang & Olufsen Tv sets. Room for improvement: heating (the AC of the hotel only works for cooling) and the controls of the room – centralized pads would be ideal for the ease of controlling curtains, AC, DND and lights.
President Wilson Hotel proudly boasts Geneva’s most expensive (US$ 81,000/night) and extravagant Presidential Suite. The 12-bedroom, 12-bathroom suite takes up the entire floor of the hotel, offering a large terrace overlooking the lake. It has extensive security measures, including armored doors, a human-sized safe, and bullet-proof windows.
At a service level, I was impressed with the level of consistency, warmth and anticipation. One could feel the bond of the staff as a team and the pleasure they take to serve. Food & beverage and the Spa stood out during my stay, with the highest standard of service.
After Prince de Galle, Gritti Palace and The Chatwal, I must admit President Wilson has provided yet another pleasant surprise from Starwood’s Luxury Collection. It is yet another achievement for the luxury hotel chain, especially from the point of view of consistency and providing a true luxury hospitality experience within a unique location.
