French upscale department store operator Printemps has inaugurated this week a new store in Paris, its first new opening in 32 years. The new Printemps Louvre store in Paris covers 2,500 sqm and is situated within the shopping mall of the Carrousel du Louvre, a strategic location in targetting foreign travelers. Printemps also announced two future department store openings in Paris by the end of 2015.
The new Printemps store at the Carrousel du Louvre was designed by Italian architect Antonio Citterio who introduced many novelties for the department store operator not only in terms of design which is in keeping with the location near the Louvre Museum but also from the point of view of brand mix and allocation of space. Spaces are divided in corners, some mono-brand, the mix including Stella McCartney, Saint Laurent, Chloé, Dior and mono-brand boutiques of Bottega Veneta, Givenchy, Prada, Burberry, Longchamp and Coach.
The mezzanine of the new Printemps Louvre which covers 900 sqm is dedicated to watches and fine jewelry, with mono-brands of Omega, Hermès, Chopard, Girard Perregaux and a selection of other brands such as Corum, Baume & Mercier, Jean Richard, etc. Strategically, the new Printemps provides customers with 6 kiosks for automatic tax free refund, on the spot.
