Dior‘s Creative Director Raf Simons will design for Danish based Kvadrat an upholstery collection which is inspired by the work of furniture designers of the mid-twentieth century as Jean Royère, Pierre Jeanneret and Hans Wegner, and proposes an alternative to monotonous fabrics commonly used today: new grounds for rich texture, capable of giving a sculptural quality and a new tactility. “We are creating the blank canvas of the designers, which will start to design and build,” says Simons.
Kvadrat has a long tradition for collaborations with interior designers, the latest such collaboration being with Patricia Urquila and Moroso for ”The Revolving Room’‘.
