RIMOWA (LVMH Group) store at Bal Harbour Shops in Miami features the latest luggage carousel-style store concept and showcases the RIMOWA’s updated luggage collections—the RIMOWA Original, RIMOWA Classic, RIMOWA Essential and RIMOWA Hybrid. The new RIMOWA store will also be the exclusive RIMOWA retail location in Miami for the Aesop + RIMOWA collaboration. Founded in 1898 in Cologne, Germany, Paul Morszeck first started his business of designing and selling luggage made of a lightweight hard-wearing wood. Just over 30 years into the business, Morszceck’s factory burst into flames, leaving aluminum as the only material surviving the blaze. In 1937, the very first aluminum trunk was pioneered by Paul Morszeck’s son, Richard Morszeck, inspired by the same material as the Junker F13—the world’s first all-metal passenger plane. The iconic grooves that you see on each of the products are also taken from the distinctive design of the Junkers F13.
