Saint Laurent Paris, the luxury fashion house owned by Kering (formerly PPR Group) has signed a joint venture agreement with UAE based Al Tayer Insignia for the expansion of the brand through mono-brand stores throughout the Middle East.
Saint Laurent has been present in the UAE since 2003 through a franchising agreement with Al Tayer, with sales points at Marina Mall, Abu Dhabi and Mall of the Emirates in Dubai, corners within Harvey Nichols – Dubai and Bloomingdale’s – Dubai and a shop-in-shop within the Level shoe district at The Dubai Mall.
The new joint venture will open a Saint Laurent flagship store in Abu Dhabi at Sowwah Square during 2013. Al Tayer Insignia currently has operations in Bahrain, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Qatar – eventual destinations for future Saint Laurent mono-brand stores.
