Italian luxury shoemaker Sergio Rossi has recently opened a new store in London’s Mount Street, Mayfair. The 100 sqm retail space will be its flagship with an aim to “perfectly summarise” the identity of the brand. The store concept has been created by architect Marco Costanzi and a collection of furniture created exclusively for the brand by interior designer Cristina Celestino.
The store design was inspired by a “cultivated and ironic femininity with a contemporary allure”, expressed through a “scenic setting featuring an elegant sitting room”. The furniture reveals both a domestic and a retail aspect.
The backdrop is partly inspired by the city of Milan, which presents a colour palette of nude, chalk hues, amaranth, pine and pale green.
The London boutique will be the first to carry a menswear capsule, the first since the relaunch of the brand in 2016. On March 13, Sergio Rossi will celebrate its debut in London with an exclusive in-store cocktail reception followed by a private dinner hosted by Martina Mondadori, founder of design magazine Cabana.
Kering Group sold Sergio Rossi last year to Investindustrial, a European investment fund.
