Rooms and suites are impeccably maintained, providing ultimate comfort and an exceptionally sleep experience. The quality of furnishings and finishes is truly impressive. The generously sized bathrooms provide separately bathtub and walk-in shower, with impeccable water pressure, lighting and luxury amenities by Diptyque. Bedding is truly luxurious, with superb mattresses and high-thread count satin cotton linen. Soundproofing and AC are of the highest standards, extending a most serene experience.
All rooms have Dyson hairdryers, hair straighteners, steamers and a mobile phone with unlimited data and international calls that guests can carry with them and use free of charge. Tea and coffee are also provided, as is mineral water, sustainably bottled. Do experience in-room dining, especially at breakfast – it provides a most pampering experience within your own sanctuary of comfort.
The reception area is open and welcoming, glass-fronted and looks out to the Port Vell, with stairs leading up to the book-filled mezzanine bar, Biblioteca. Here you’ll find “Picasso Corner”, with a selection of books about the artist, whose first, modest, studio was on the rooftop of this very building. There is no spa, but in-room massages can be provided with a bit of notice, and there is a small but well-equipped gym.
The exceptional rooftop restaurant features Catalan dishes, and change seasonally. Downstairs, Agreste Mar is the main dining venue of the hotel. After their successful journey at Agreste and achieving 1 Repsol Sun, Fabio & Roser move to Serras Barcelona, opening the doors of their restaurant Agreste Mar. Led by Chef Fabio Gambirasi, trained in several Michelin-starred restaurants in France and Italy.
Breakfast is outstanding! It consists of a generous buffet of cold cuts, smoked salmon, cheese and pastries, with an à la carte menu of hot dishes available. Service is impressive! – warm, attentive and highly personalised and individualised. The mezzanine lounge is a cosy place for a cocktail at any time of day or night, with the same list of tasty salads, burgers and snacks as the rooftop pool bar and room service menus.
The hotel became the first hotel in Barcelona to obtain the LEED certification. The Serras hotel is a leader for other new and existing hotels to be built and operated with sustainability and energy efficiency at the forefront. The project’s goals focused on the triple bottom line: decreasing energy use and environmental impacts from building operations / creating a healthy and enjoyable environment for hotel workers and customers / increasing property value.
