Built by Ernest Janty in 1899 as a residence of Napoleon Bonaparte, on the former site of the Villa de Nimio (which used to house the Nigeon Monastery), Shangri-La Paris opened its doors in 2010. Steps from Avenue Montaigne and with spectacular views of the Eiffel Tower, the Shangri-La Paris enjoys a unique location on avenue d’Iéna, with a private drive through, making it an ideal for both leisure and corporate guests.
The lavishly classic interiors are as impressive as the facade, each room that makes up the public spaces, instilling a homy feel. The ultra-personalized service emphasizes the stately residential feel, which made me fall in love with the property from the minute I stepped into the hotel. The entire hotel exudes luxury through its incredible attention to details, with a spectacular blend of glamor and elegance. Special attention is being paid to flower decorations which adorn all public spaces as well as rooms and suites.
I could not be more thrived to have opted for a stay almost 4 years since opening, as the hotel underwent a complete transformation with the addition an expansive Spa, within a new building which doubled the room count. In spite of the criticism for advertising the Eiffel Tower views, which are not available in regular room categories, I have to admit that the views from the living room and terrace of my suite were utterly magnetic. Although a regular traveler to Paris, I could not stop but take shots of the Eiffel Tower at every moment of the day, from every possible angle, especially during the evenings.
Service is as impressive as the astounding quality of facilities and exquisite aesthetics of the hotel. Service makes one truly feel as being special and pampered, like a member of the most exclusive club. It is this particular luxury lifestyle that makes the Shangri-La Paris such a unique destination. You will be WOW-ed, as you keep discovering.
