Singer Palace is located on a discreet lane right off high-street Via del Corso. The hotel is within striking distance of the city’s most famous landmarks, juxtaposed between the ancient sites of the Palatine Hill and the Baroque treasures of the historic centre. Luxury shopping at Via dei Condotti is also just up the road between the hotel and the Spanish Steps.
Thanks to its withdrawn location, Singer Palace boasts some of the most quiet rooms and suites in the heart of Rome. The rather secluded entrance (away from the main boulevard) conveys a sense of private and safety. Formerly the Singer company headquarters, the building is impressive in its majestic structure, with abundant marble throughout the entire hotel.
The palazzo building, which was designed by architect Mario Loreti in 1930, was sold off to a bank and changed hands a number of times over the following decades, but the building’s original art deco features miraculously remain intact. These include a gorgeous marble staircase, an elegant entrance and vestibule, wood-panelled round lifts, boiserie, Bakelite fittings and painted glass.
These period details are now the central showpieces of the palazzo, carefully preserved by Roman architect Potito Michele Giorgio. When combined with Milanese designer Elisa Ferrari’s relaxed contemporary décor, the result is a stylish and inviting property, with the rooftop lounge and dining spaces as highlights. Richly coloured velvet sofas, whimsically patterned throw pillows, soft leather butterfly chairs and effortlessly arranged fresh flowers come together for an air of playful sophistication.
Michela Mola, whose family has several other hospitality project, is presently running the luxury hotel. Her attention to detail is evident at every corner. The quality of the materials, including furnishes as well as the finishes are truly exceptional. Particular attention has been paid to comfort and an interior design which is lasting. The upkeep of the entire hotel is impressive with continuous touches to fix and maintain. Mrs Mola’s approach to sustainability is laudable and present throughout the hotel.

Rooftop Jim’s Restaurant at the rooftop offers dramatic views of Rome’s skyline . It features a vintage and bespoke cocktail menu inspired by classics from the 1920s available from late afternoon to midnight. The adjacent restaurant is headed up by chef Alessandro Fiacco and serves lunch and dinner in the dining room and on the terrace. The food provides a modern take on dishes from across Italy, from rigatoni alla norma to baccalà with cherry tomatoes and capers. There’s also a special section of the menu dedicated to Roman classics such as spaghetti alla carbonara.
Service throughout the entire hotel is heartfelt, warm and genuine with staff going out of their way to please guests. Service is also efficient, fast and predictive. The familiar private feel is omnipresent.
