Swiss luxury watchmaker Tag Heuer (owned by LVMH) is launching at Baselworld 2013 two watchmaking’s breakthroughs, developed by its Avant-Garde Haute Horlogerie workshop, a 25-person team of scientists, engineers and designers. The Tag Heuer Carrera MikroPendulum is the first-ever magnet-driven 100th-of-a-second chronograph and the Tag Heuer Carrera MikroPendulumS a concept of the first-ever double magnetic tourbillon. The first watch will be commercially available, while the second one is in a concept stage.
The core of that achievement is its high-precision MIKRO Series, a platform of powerful technological innovations that turn many of horology’s centuries-old hypotheses about how watches must work on their head.
